If you were to ask me about a perfect wedding day, it would be…

In a fun and relaxed environment, I capture the groom and his groomsmen getting ready for the wedding. I’ll include small details, candid shots of friendship and laughter, while ignoring dirty jokes and bossing them around when things need to be done!

I then drive to the bride’s pre-wedding location where I will capture the last touches of makeup and hair, bubbles, shots of the dress, rings and flowers. I love incorporating details with my subject, for example, if it is a dress, I may ask the bride to hold it for me. She then puts the dress on and if she is comfortable, we will have a first look with her parents or loved ones. Precious photos of the group’s tears, laughs, and emotions.

Finally, I will drive to the ceremony venue. From here there is no posing and I will document every moment as it happens; the emotions, ‘I do’, to the first kiss.

Following this, I will then suggest having the big and small group photos done.

We then leave for bride and groom and bridal party photos at the location of their choice. I honestly love keeping it short and making the most of it. We will spend 20-30 minutes with the bridal party and then I will continue working with the bride and groom. A few compulsory posed photos, while the rest will be candid, with my guidance. If time allows (and quite often it does), I leave the happy couple on their own to enjoy some time together.

We then head to the reception venue, capturing the bride and groom’s grand entrance and candid shots of the guests.

From here I take photos during the speeches, before putting my camera down for the dinner service. After a little break I return and will photograph the cake cutting ceremony and first dance. I will then take a few good shots of the party, and leave them to the fun that ensues!
